Product Description

Galvanic Isolation Without the Bulk

Galvanic isolation in a UPS is one of those things that sounds like a textbook footnote until the day you actually need it. Maybe you're running sensitive lab instruments that go haywire from ground loops. Maybe you're powering medical electronics where even a tiny DC leakage current is a safety issue. Maybe you're just tired of chasing noise problems that trace back to a floating neutral somewhere in the building. Traditionally, if you wanted isolation, you had to buy a heavy, transformer-based low-frequency UPSand you paid for it in weight, footprint, and efficiency. The RTS Series DP breaks that trade-off. It's a high-frequency online UPS that provides true galvanic isolation between input and output in every operating mode, including bypass. That's the headline, and for certain sites, it's a deal-maker.

Isolation That Stays Put, Even on Bypass

In a typical online UPS, the bypass path is a straight electrical connection from input to output. If the inverter goes offline or you manually switch to bypass, there's nothing between the grid and your load. The RTS DP is different. The isolation barrier is built into the power path itself, so even when the unit is on bypassduring maintenance, overload, or a fault conditionthe galvanic separation remains. No sneak currents, no common-mode noise riding through. For hospitals, labs, and industrial testing setups, that's the peace of mind you don't get from a standard high-frequency machine.

Double Conversion at the Core

Underneath the isolation, this is a genuine online double-conversion UPS. The inverter runs full-time, feeding a clean, regenerated sine wave to your equipment. A DSP digital controller keeps the output voltage and frequency locked regardless of what the grid is doing. Three-level inverter technology reduces switching noise, improves efficiency, and handles non-linear loads better than older two-level designs. All the things you'd expect from a serious rack-mount online UPS, just with that extra isolation layer baked in.

Output Flexibility That Adapts to Your Gearor Your Country

One of the handiest features of the RTS DP is how configurable the output is. Need standard single-phase 220/240V? Done. But if you've got a mix of equipment that wants something elsesay, a dual-phase setup with two 110V lines (L1-N and L2-N) for North American or legacy hardwareyou can configure it that way too. The output frequency is selectable between 50 and 60 Hz, completely independent of the input. So a single RTS DP can serve a global installation: 230V/50Hz here, 120V/60Hz there, or even a site that runs both 110V and 220V gear from the same UPS. You're not ordering different SKUs for different regions; you're setting a parameter and moving on.

Rack or Tower, Your Call

The chassis is a 19-inch rack-mount design, but it ships with standing feet. Slide it into your server rack, or stand it on the floor in a utility closet. The battery is internal, so you're not finding space for an external pack. That's a practical advantage in cramped electrical rooms or shallow cabinets.

Wide Input Window, Generator-Ready

Input voltage range is 90V to 300V, with frequency tolerance from 40 to 70 Hz. In a site where the grid sags every time the air conditioning kicks on, the UPS stays on utility power instead of cycling the battery. It's also inherently generator-compatiblethe wide frequency window means a backup genset with sloppy output won't cause the UPS to reject the source and drain its battery. Cold start is standard, so you can fire it up from battery alone during a blackout.

Output Power Factor 1.0 and Serious Overload Headroom

The RTS DP puts out a full 1.0 power factora 10kVA unit delivers 10kW. That matches modern server and network equipment with active PFC supplies without leaving capacity on the table. And it can handle a 125% overload for a full 10 minutes, not just a few seconds. That kind of headroom means a brief motor start, a laser printer warm-up, or an inrush from a piece of test equipment won't send the UPS scrambling to bypass. It rides through and keeps protecting.

Active PFC and Clean Power on Both Ends

Input power factor is above 0.99 thanks to active power factor correction. The UPS draws current cleanly and in phase with the voltage, reducing harmonic pollution and stress on upstream wiring. In a building with lots of electronic loads, that's how you keep transformers cool and breakers from nuisance-tripping.

Display, Monitoring, and Build Quality

An optional brilliant LCD display gives you clear visibility into input/output voltages, load levels, battery status, and alarmsall with a multi-language interface. For communications, the RTS DP slots into the same ecosystem as the rest of the RTS family: RS232, USB, EPO, and an intelligent slot that accepts SNMP, MODBUS, RS485, or AS400 cards. A HID USB option lets you plug into a PC and have the operating system recognize the UPS automaticallyno drivers, no software install.

Inside, the main PCB uses FR4 glass fiber material and gets a conformal coating to resist moisture, dust, and corrosion. Ventilation is designed to keep air flowing without accumulating debris. If your UPS is going into a less-than-pristine environmenta factory lab, a humid basement, a dusty equipment roomthat coating and board quality keep it alive longer than a standard office UPS.

Open to Your System

Like other RTS models, the DP is open to customization. Need it to integrate with a building management system or a custom automation controller? The architecture supports it. No locked firmware, no black box.

Where It Makes the Most Sense

The RTS Series DP is a niche machine, but in that niche, it's a perfect fit. Common deployments include:

`Hospitals and medical imaging suites where galvanic isolation is a safety requirement

`Research labs with sensitive measurement equipment that demands isolated, noise-free power

`Industrial test benches running a mix of 110V and 220V instruments

`Global deployments where the same UPS model must work across different voltage and frequency standards

`Sites with chronic ground-loop issues that have caused problems with unprotected equipment

If you don't need isolation, a standard RTS or RT Series will do the job for less. But if your equipment demands that extra layer of separationand you don't want to wrestle with a heavy, transformer-based low-frequency unitthe RTS DP is the smart choice. It delivers galvanic isolation in a compact, efficient, high-frequency package, plus the output flexibility to handle mixed voltages. No trade-offs, no wasted rack space, no ground loops.
