A Three-Phase Rack UPS That Doesn't Make You Work Around It
If you've ever tried to read a rack-mounted UPS display while your neck is twisted at an angle that'd make a chiropractor wince, you'll get why the 33RM Series on the 10–20kVA models starts with the screen. It auto-rotates. Mount the unit vertically in a tower orientation, the LCD flips. Lay it flat in a rack shelf, it flips again. No menu diving to rotate the display, no squinting at sideways text during a midnight alarm. It's such a simple fix, you wonder why every rack UPS doesn't do it.
But the 33RM is more than a clever screen. It's a true double-conversion online UPS, scaling from 10 to 60kVA, built for standard 19-inch racks in data centers, server rooms, and industrial enclosures.
Real Power, No Derating Games
Output power factor is 1.0. A 60kVA unit actually delivers 60kW. That's not a paper spec—it means you can fill the rack with modern servers that run near-unity power factor and actually use all the capacity you paid for. DSP digital control keeps the output voltage and frequency locked steady, regardless of what the grid does. Zero transfer time, always regenerating a clean sine wave.
Dual Inputs and Generator Tolerance Built In
The 33RM comes standard with dual AC inputs. You can feed it from two independent utility sources, or one utility and one backup generator. If the primary feed drops, the UPS draws from the secondary without a hiccup. There's no add-on module to buy, no external switchgear to figure out.
Generator compatibility is handled by a wide input window—the UPS accepts the kind of loose voltage and frequency that smaller or older gensets produce without constant battery-cycling. It syncs, cleans the power through double conversion, and keeps the load safe. And if you need to run equipment designed for a different grid frequency, there's a frequency converter mode (50Hz to 60Hz or vice versa) built right in.
ECO Mode When the Grid Behaves
For energy savings, you can switch to ECO mode, which bypasses the double conversion while keeping the inverter spinning and ready. The moment the utility wobbles, it snaps back to online mode. In a facility with relatively stable power, that shaves a few points off the electric bill without giving up protection.
Emergency Power Off and Battery Management
EPO is standard—a hard-wired shutdown that kills output instantly when safety demands it.
On the battery side, the charger uses a three-stage extendable design. It conditions the batteries properly, and if you need more runtime, you can adjust the number of battery cells to match your specific backup requirements. No rigid string lengths. For long-runtime configurations, that flexibility saves you from overbuying or under-sizing.
Parallel for Redundancy, Common Battery for Savings
You can parallel multiple 33RM units for N+X redundancy or capacity. And here's where it saves real money: the paralleled units can share a single common battery bank. Instead of buying and maintaining separate battery cabinets for each UPS, you invest in one pool. Fewer cells, less floor space, lower total cost.
Optional Isolation Transformer
Some sites need complete electrical separation—medical imaging suites, sensitive lab instruments, legacy industrial gear that's prone to ground-loop noise. The 33RM offers an optional internal or external isolation transformer. You get galvanic isolation without stepping up to a massive, low-frequency transformer-based UPS. It's there if you need it, invisible if you don't.
Active PFC Keeps the Wiring Happy
Active power factor correction on all three phases pushes input PF above 0.99. The UPS pulls current cleanly, in phase with the voltage, reducing harmonic pollution that can overheat neutrals and trip breakers in older buildings.
Where the 33RM Fits
This is a rack-mount three-phase UPS for mid-size data centers, server rooms, telecom exchanges, and industrial racks. At 10–20kVA, the auto-rotating display is a genuine quality-of-life upgrade for anyone who has to stand in front of the rack. At 30–60kVA, it's a dense, scalable power plant in a 19-inch chassis. Dual inputs, common battery parallel, frequency conversion, and optional isolation—the 33RM covers the range from straightforward backup to tightly specified mission-critical setups.
And yes, the screen flips. It's a small thing. But when you're the one staring at it at 3 a.m., small things matter.
